What I Wore // Rome - The Vatican and The Sistine Chapel.

Sunglasses - Dolce and Gabanna
Smock - ASOS

 Dress - Ingenue*

Ah, Rome. Over a week ago we arrived home from here, and I've realised that its probably my favourite city, alongside Kyoto, Japan. Unfortunately a week of pasta, gelato and wine has inevitably resulted in a few extra pounds, and this Ingenue dress was perfect for our last meal together in Rome. Its a super light, soft fabric, a flattering cut, and a vibrant print. Basically, everything you could ever possibly need to disguise a bit of a food baby whilst still feeling divine.

I've got a few posts coming up, as I have far too many pictures to post from our little trip alone, so here are pictures from just one area. Although I clearly didn't wear these to the Vatican (you must cover up for the chapels and basilicas), I'm super close to the area in both outfit pictures so, hey!
My future step-mum in law so kindly took us away to Rome for my future father in laws 60th birthday (Phew), and it was such a treat. We stayed in an apartment close to St. Peters Square and the Vatican, which got mental when the popes were canonised, but rather a lovely atmosphere as people were singing and dancing through the night before 'the big day,' even if it did mean compromising on sleep. The Vatican needs a day to roam around in (pun definitely intended), and the Sistine Chapel will never be justified by pictures. I felt suitably cultured learning so much about Michaelangelo and his work. I actually reckon I could give a presentation on the walls and ceiling of the Sistine Chapel now!
Rome is just like everything you've probably ever heard, but busier. Its worth walking everywhere, its romantic, and its a must for your bucket list!

Have you been here?
More soon!
