When asked to choose a single independent retailer to review by Barclaycard, I took the opportunity to top up my collection of Crown & Glory hair products. The campaign highlights their new cashback Freedom Rewards card, where points are earned every time you shop, even with small, independent businesses, with double/triple points in supermarkets and petrol stations My hair is usually pretty bland, and whilst I'm forever supressing the urge to dye my hair pink (I'm pretty sure I'd get sacked), I never really know what to do with my boring barnet.
In come Crown & Glory, who I discovered a couple of years ago. Every item is hand crafted by Sophie, and represents a little step away from subtlety that gets me a little bit further away from the 'bland' title. Her range begins at beautiful floral crowns, flicks through turbans and clips, and ends with stand out fascinators and head pieces that just cannot go unnoticed. I find myself drooling over some of the huge, multicoloured statement pieces, but I'm not sure I quite have the confidence or the style to pull them off, and luckily there are loads of tamer pieces for the flat haired like myself.
I bought the Iron & Wine floral crown long ago, and it will always be a firm favourite - And I reckon it suits a little more than when I had bright blonde hair! I'm loving my new additions though, and picked up the ears with Disney fueled excitement, and the Orchid clip to wear at work where I have to wear my hair up (boring). I've loved the big floral headbands around recently, but the Not A Whole Lotta Rosie headband is a bit more of a subtle nod, and I've been wearing this quite a bit lately, including Christmas day! All in all still a much loved company, and I'd much rather send my money here than to Claire's or other, where studs fall off headbands pretty much immediately. </grumble>
What do you think of these pieces? Which is your favourite?
Have you discovered Crown & Glory yet?

I will always love Crown & Glory. Sophie's pieces are so much nicer than a lot of other brands. The ears are too cute! xx

ReplyDeleteI like the head pieces - they've got a certain boho softness to them. Thanks for sharing. I'll be paying more attention to the brand now - all thanks to you.
