When I started University I made a mental list of 'luxury' items that I could probably do without - All with a view to tighten my budget and make my way through University as financially comfortable as possible (A laughable concept a year on), but the £20 Redken shampoo and conditioner was one of the first to go. £20 seemed like a lot of money (and still does) especially for something as basic as this. So I started using my mums L'oreal instead, and actually quite liked it! Easier than I thought!
Until I spotted that my friend had some in her possession on a weekend away, and I tried it again. I really had forgotten how my hair loved it. The main problem with my hair is dry/brittleness, probably from heat damage, but lets be honest - I'm not about to stop using straighteners any time soon. After using it again, my hair felt lighter, looked healthier and was easier to style with a bit of oomph!
I realised that actually, cheaper shampoo creates a false economy. Yeah, L'oreal is a great shampoo, as are many other salon brands, and they're a half the price. But they're also less than half the quality, I'd say - AND they never, ever last as long because so little of this Redken shampoo and conditioner is needed for full effectiveness. So £20, actually, is better value than a £8 L'oreal duo.
Well, I bought back into it and absolutely love treating my hair. I've used other ranges from Redken: Blonde, to try and extend the life of my highlights, and Extreme, to try and repair the state of my hair, but actually, All Soft seems to accomplish everything in one bottle (and smells the best, by far).
Is anyone else a Redken addict?
S xx
p.s Have you noticed my new blog design? I'm completely in love with it!
I always get talked into buying pricier hair products when I get my hair done, then afterwards when I can splurge no more I just get annoyed as boots/superdrug hair products just don't feel the same. Have you tried label m stuff? tis guuud

ReplyDeleteThe new design on the blog is just lovely! :) I haven't heard of Redken before, but I think it is beyond my current budget, although I see your point about quality/price ratio :)
ReplyDeleteI've never tried Redken but I've just ordered a free sample, I think that there are still some left:

Talking about your blog design (which I love so much by the way) How did you do it? I really want to redesign mine to look more original and pretty (in theme with the style of my blog) but I have no idea how to do it with the normal blogger design thing. If you could respond that would be grand.
