Its my birthday and I'll blog if I want to!

So today is my 22nd birthday. I can't believe I'm 22 already.
When I was a lot younger, 22 seemed absolutely ancient - I thought 18 was old! By now, I genuinely thought I'd be married, have kids and be earning £40,000. Ah, sweet naivety.

Right now, I couldn't be any further away from the expectations of my younger self. I still live with my parents and am a full time student at University, definitely not raking in the dollar but in fact delving deeper into my overdraft every day! However, I consider myself very lucky at this point in my life, and wouldn't swap it should I be given the chance!

My best friend, Alice, is the same best friend I've since I was 8 years old. That's 12 years of friendship; in that time we've developed an immense understanding of each other which I don't think will ever be matched with another. I often wonder if everyone has a friend as great as my best buddy!
I've found my 'calling' in life. When I was at school I wasn't sure what I was going to do with my life and just stumbled along waiting for something to happen. Then, almost 4 years ago, by pure fluke I fell into Physiotherapy, and feel passionate that this is what I want to be doing for the rest of my life. Comparing how sure I feel now to how lost I felt whilst at school is immense, and its real. Feeling lost for much longer would've killed me, and It just hit me. Good things come to those who wait?
Last year, just before my 21st birthday, I finally got out of a 5 year long, drawn and painful relationship. I sparsely wonder what I'd be like if I was still dwindling in that same dull place, full of self doubt and constant wonder. I changed for the better after we ended, and found myself. Now I'm in a laid-back relationship with an amazingly funny guy. Win-win!

And all of the other expected stuff, I have a lovely family, lovely group of friends, lovely car, blah blah.

Anyway, as I get older, the expectations of my life get pushed back; its going so quickly! My 18th birthday seems like an event of just last week! When I think of the things I'd like to do before I'm 30, I realise I'm quite pushed for time. It'll take another 2 years for me to graduate, how long for me to find a stable job and gain valuable experience so that I can start to progress and grow in the Physio world? How long will it take to get enough money for a house deposit? Who will I live with? I want to travel too! And have kids! How long will it take a girl with PCOS to even have kids? Yikes - I don't like growing up.

So, for now, I'll continue being a youngster and having a ruddy good time (Ruddy? Really)?

On Saturday, a few of my closest friends came round for pizza, my special chav-tastic punch (maybe one day I'll share the recipe), and much more alcohol related games, before hitting the local (and seriously rubbish) town!

I'm wearing
Dress - Primark
Jacket - Primark
Shoes - River Island
Bracelets - H&M

(and a tonne of St. Tropez)!

And my friend Cerys is wearing
Top - Coast
Culottes - River Island
Shoes - Primark
Headpiece - Gift

Alice (Left) is wearing a Topshop dress
and Annette wears a John Zack beauty with mesh cut-out sides!
