What I Wore // Happy Valentines! ♥

Happy Valentines Day!

I won't be celebrating Valentines day today - Not because I don't believe in it, but because I no longer see the need to. In my previous relationship I was so unhappy that I had a lot of hope when it came to Valentines day, and put in so much effort for everything to be perfect, and it just wasn't worth it. Now I'm in a relationship where I'm genuinely happy and feel lucky every time I'm with my guy, I've got the Valentines va-va voom every day! (I'm a soppy get at heart - And I may have sent my boy a sneaky card in the post).

I was in that past relationship for 5 naive years and learnt the biggest lesson of my life, along with so many other valuable lessons. Loving yourself is a prerequisite to loving another. If you succeed in this, everything will be so much better when the time comes.

Anyway, I'm loving over sized tops recently. I have huge hips and a big bum - Compared to my upper half, so this style balances things out perfectly, and I can't get enough of them! Also, I've barely taken this necklace off since I got it a few weeks ago.

I wore this to visit Wagamama this weekend with aforementioned guy. We didn't get there 'til 9pm and were seriously rushed out, which was quite sad because things are usually so smooth and laid back in Wagamamas, I think. Oh well!
The only problem with Wagamamas is that I LOVE Chicken Katsu Curry so much, that I'm too scared to try anything else! I'm pretty sure I'd like it, but if I don't, I'll be mad at myself for washing a katsu-opportunity. What do you love at Wagamamas? I'm determined to try something else on the menu!

Top - Topshop
Necklace - True Birds
Skirt - H&M
Tights - Primark
Shoes - Primark
(These shoes are amazing; £12 - real leather upper - and SO comfy)!

Also, just a note, because its been pointed out. I swear I'm not miserable when I'm not alone in this room! Unfortunately I chose Physiotherapy instead of modelling as a profession, and when I smile in front of a self-timer on camera, well, it just looks frozen, and fake. (I'm sure you understand what I mean)! I'm aware that my 'normal' face looks a bit angry, in fact it's been pointed out by my lecturers, educators, family and friends and its something I can't really help, its just my face. Luckily though, I'm pretty much always smiling.

S xx

  1. Sorry, but why do you have such a miserable face in all photos? Is it so trendy???
Also, you don't look 21 but much much older :(

  2. Hey, I've tried smiling but when I'm on my own in a room it just ends up looking like a frozen mess, can't be helped!

Also, I can't help it if I look older?! Whats that about? Ah thanks...

  3. Though I'm pretty sure I don't look miserable in all of them?

I don't get it though, If you've nothing nice to say, say nothing at all.

  4. wow, you look so beautiful :))) Happy V day!!!

  5. ignore the rude comment! you don't look older than you are at all. you look lovely! xo

  6. I need to get one of those posters! I got a mug with that logo from Waitrose :) Great outfit hun (I'm the same in photos - I can look like a goof trying to smile sometimes!!) I tried the crispy duck in Wagamama & was enjoying it until my mum made a comment about my sisters pet ducks & I couldn't finish it! Oh well ;) Great to hear your happy with your bf :) xx

  7. Anonymous, I'm not sure if you'll pass by this blog again and read these comments, but is there really any need for that?
Also I have to wonder why you've posted anonymously. I don't want to lower myself by commenting in the same same way you do, but sod it I will do anyway.
I think that if you are prepared to type such comments you should at least do so revealing who you are rather than hiding away. However it is very likely that you are pig ugly and have a face like a baboon walking backwards. Therefore I can understand why you are anonymous, and to be honest if your face does look like that I'm actually quite glad that you have remained so.
If you do actually decide to reveal yourself then please go ahead, but I could do with a warning before viewing your profile so I can find a way to shield my eyes.

  8. wipe that miserable look off your face!! haha, im only joking- dear anonymous, you are a loser! what is there to gain by venting your offensive negative opinions? absolutely nothing. if thats how you get your kicks then you need to find a hobby or something.

i dont think you look miserable at all, i hardly ever smile in the pictures i take for my blog!!
love your top & the polka tights :) xx

  10. Did I say she was ugly? I don't think so. I said she looked miserable in the photos. Probably because she doesn't very often smile. On the other hand, everybody is free to express feelings, thoughts and opinions, especially on the internet. And on top of everything please never forget that if you have a blog or you are on facebook etc, it is not private anymore but it's an interactive surface where people can see your information about you which was made available by YOU. And at last but not least opinion can be constructive and it is always down to the personality of people if they take it too personally or as a different perspective. Buy the way, I am not pig ugly at all but quite pretty, some people call me beautiful which really shocks me sometimes as I don't think so. Anway, the secret is... that extra thing called SMILE. Try it.

  11. I do smile! Just not for the 5 seconds that the pictures are being taken. I know I look silly most of the time I'm smiling for self-timed photos, and your 'advice' will not change that however hard I tried. I know I smile a lot in 'real life' and actually, this is represented in a few previous posts, no?

Also, I don't really believe telling me I look way older than 21 is constructive at all, more pointless and a little bit rude - But as you say, each to their own, people just can't help but pick up on negativity. Glad I'm not one of them is all.

  12. Look, I don't think I was rude. In general I am a very tactful person. I can imagine though that an opinion like this may not be appreciated. Please have a look at the girls night out photos. Do you think you look like a 21-year-old girl? You definitely don't look 21 wearing those too serious things. You typically have a kind of classical face with those sharp features. Check out Milla Jojovich. Anyway, my point is, that I could much more imagine Mango, Zara and Springfield clothes on you. A bit of a mediterranian edge would make you look more playful and interesting instead of the sometimes boring or overly busy clothes of UK designers.
That's all for now. I need to practice. Not the smiling though...that goes well :)

  13. See, that's more of a constructive comment, which is definitely welcomed as I am by no means a fashionista and am always looking for tips! To be honest, I may agree with you on the night out photos, I had been at University for longer than I cared to be that day, and chucked some stuff on in a bit of a rush as I didn't have time to think up an outfit - Hopefully you'll like some other stuff in future! And come to mention it, Mango and Zara are two of my favourite shops.

  14. your blog is amazing ♥

  20. That's alright about not smiling, most models don't and a the natural look of a face with no muscle contractions is kind of angry or sad, lol I look the same way in my pictures!
