After Lancome released the market thrashing pigmentation of the Laque Fever gloss, and the innovative packaging and application style of Rouge in Love, I didn't think Lancome could improve things further. Inevitably though, I have been proven wrong. Lip Lover has taken both formulas and created something that resembles perfection. Now, if you know me at all, you'll be aware that I've been a huge fan of Lancome for years, and although I almost lost faith in them a few years back, they're better than ever. Lips, and Foundation. Nobody does it better than Lancome!
The Lip Lover tubes are pretty small, and I can see why some may be reluctant to even look at them, but in this case its definitely quality over quantity, and this is a range I'll be going back to again, even more so than my previous favourite, 'Laque Fever' range. Its a super pigmented formula too, so just one dip into the tube is needed, (it'll last forever)! I do find though, that with Belle de Rouge (the bright red colour) I do need to go over a few times to even out the colour perfectly. The colour range is delightfully extensive, (shown above is but a third of the colour range), and that should please more than just a few. Is there much more annoying than finding an amazing beauty formula that is so limited in choice? My favourite is by far 'Roses de Cygnes,' a deepened, mauve berry pink, although I've been reaching for the medium pink that is 'Rose De Nymphes' a lot for daytime wear, too.
Lancome say that Lip Lover is their first 'all-in-one lip perfector, providing the comfort of a lip balm, the colour of a lipstick, together with the shine that a gloss would normally bring. Despite a tiny bit of tackiness (nothing compared to Juicy Tubes), I'd agree entirely. The formula is super glossy as you can see, and so incredibly moisturising, that even my dry, flaky lips look pretty fancy!
Which is your favourite?
Will you be trying these?
