Having visited quite a few spa's, I looked for ages to find one that was as nice as the others and had the facilities that both Dan and I liked. After visiting Sopwell House, which was pretty much just a health club, we wanted something that felt a little more special, with relaxation rooms and an 'adult theme park' amount of stuff to explore and do.
We were both pretty impressed with Y spa. Its only about 15 minutes away from us, at Wyboston Lakes, and I'm pretty sure its an old conference centre, so it doesn't look too exciting at first. I was quite glad for that initial disappointment though, because it meant I was surprised when we got inside and saw how nice it was. We went on a weekday, and although we were worried about it being quite small, it was almost empty. Apart from the canoodling 'a-bit-too-intimate' couple who seemed to follow us everywhere, we pretty much had free reign of the outdoor hydrotherapy pool (which you can turn into a giant jacuzzi), the steam rooms and the cosy, warmed waterbeds (my favourite). I like to find something different in every spa we go to, and I really liked the personal cold showers inside the steam rooms here, and the salt showers within, too.
I won't go too much into it as this might turn into a review, and I didn't take pictures of the best bits, but its definitely worth a look if you're nearby. For £99 each, we had dinner, breakfast, lunch, a treatment each, and two days use of the facilities, which I think is a bit of a bargai Heres what I wore to the dinner, a cute floral dress with neon piping! Drinks were reasonably priced too, so naturally we bought two bottles of Rose. I actually got changed when I spotted myself in a full length mirror and noticed just how short and small this was (definitely should've got a bigger size, d'oh), and changed into a black maxi instead, with the same belt!
I'm always on the lookout for new spas, which have you visited?
Have you been here?
