Birchbox £13pm*
But... I do really miss the excitement, the monthly advent calender feeling, and the occasional new product that I'd fall in love for. After all, if it wasn't for beauty boxes, I never would've tried Alterna's Rapid Repair Spray, which is still one of my all time favourite products. That feeling of fun was felt once again when this pretty little Birchbox* arrived.
Expecting the worst, I'm glad to say that inside, my nervous excitement was met with a good balance of products. Skincare, haircare, and make up. And no nonsense bath salts or well known cheap brands here. I'm aware of 'Weleda' and 'The Balm' but this heavy moisturiser is the perfect size for my handbag. The blush is a brand I've never actually tried before, and I'm glad I've tried because this super-pigmented blush rivals high end - Though I reckon this sample will last ages! The gel eyeliner probably isn't something I'd repurchase (just because I have so many) but its dark purple colour makes such a welcome change from black, and I adore the brush-in-lid concept. This will definitely get used up! The leave in hair conditioner spray, I'm currently on the hunt for mainly because it smells delicious.
This is what beauty boxes should be about - An introduction to new brands, with luxury sized samples that you will actually use to the end without cluttering up your drawers. Included was even a little magazine. Now I'm itching to sign up!
Are you subscribed to any beauty boxes?
What do you think of them?

These seem like a good idea but I'm so boring when it comes to beauty, I never venture into new products unless I have to, I've been using the same stuff for years!

Oh wow, I swap and change so often!! x
DeleteI unsubscribed to beauty boxes a month or two ago and I honestly haven't really missed them... This seems like a good box but I've had both the Weleda Skin Food and Laura Geller Eyeliner in beauty boxes before, so it seems like they're recycling the same samples which is a shame. Probably going to resubscribe sometime but this box hasn't convinced me!

Ohhh, have they really?! Thats what I hate, if you've subscribed stuff like that becomes really obvious and annoying!! x
DeleteI bought two Glossyboxes last year, and they were all right but not something I'd want every month.
ReplyDeleteI think I'd prefer an all-makeup beauty box, rather than a mix.

An all make up beauty box! Thats an amazing idea! Though can you imagine the crappy fillers? Glitter eyeliner that doesn't transfer and itchy blusher, bleugh!
DeleteMm I must agree with you, it seems more practical for me to save that amount a month and put it towards something I really want - though something about the potluck and chance about these boxes does allure me!!

Yes! You could just about get a Mac lipstick every month, or a spa day every .. Year? haha! x
DeleteI'm highly debating getting a birchbox I got a super good deal in my inbox but I don't here much about it or see many reviews. I've subscribed to Glosssybox and so far I really like it :)

You got the same box as me! Isn't the blusher really cute! I like this but I keep hearing that there has been repeat products and that the previous boxes look similar. x
