Dark circles, are you ready?!
Corrector applied, below my left eye only. Seeing a difference already?
Corrector and concealer, on my left eye only. Ta-da!
Bobbi Brown Corrector 'Light Bisque' £18
Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer 'Sand' £18
My dark circles are at their worst thanks to seriously odd sleeping pattern following obligatory late night studying, 5.30am starts for a clinical placement, and cramming for my final dissertation. The truth is, I've always had a bit of a problem with dark circles, but when I'm especially tired, I really don't look well.
I visited the Bobbi Brown counter with a view to buy either the corrector, or the concealer, whichever made the most difference. However, after being sat down and taught how best to apply the products, I was sold on both of them. I (well, the assistant) decided against the powder duo, as my eyes are just too dry, without adding powder as well!
I was served by an amazingly helpful lady, I wish I got her name! There was no pushy sales tactics, though the 'mini make up lesson' is quite a clever way of doing it, and a subtle way to make you want so much more than you bargained for, but through your own will. Does that even make sense?
Theres nothing worse than having these people down your throat, practically begging you to help them reach their targets. Argh!
I've found that with this duo, an eye cream or primer is absolutely key. Otherwise, its too drying around such a delicate area, appears heavy, and settles into fine lines, accentuating imperfections. I learnt the hard way, but since using this after allowing Origins Ginzing eye cream to settle, its lasted much longer throughout the day. At the counter, the assistant applied Bobbi Browns eye cream and primer to the area - It was so refreshing, and was indeed a perfect base, but at £30 it could wait (Its still on my list - See, the mini make up lesson works on me)!
Another tip is to apply it in thin layers with a flat brush, rather than slapping it on. I usually apply two thin layers of corrector, and one layer of concealer. I'm happy with the finish, every time.
I won't say too much more, I think the pictures speak for themselves.
I'll just mention that I think the effects are well worth every penny.
What do you think?
Have you tried either of these products?

I can't believe how great it looks! It's my birthday soon so I think I will make a purchase of these! Do they work better together? I know I wanted the corrector but the concealer on the top makes such a difference in your photos (which are amazing by the way)!

Ah what a compliment, thank you :)
DeleteI'm obsessed with the Bobbi Brown corrector - have no idea what I did before it came into my life, but honestly don't think your dark circles are bad at all! Totally agree about the sales tactics - it means I'm more likely to be a regular, loyal customer than buying something just to get away from a sales assistant and then making a mental note to never so much as look at that counter from the corner of my eye ever again! (cough *Benefit* cough!)
ReplyDeleteAmazing isn't it? I don't mind the sales tactics, they're so much kinder! Benefit are a nightmare I agree, hehe! x
DeleteWow, that's really quite impressive. I've been considering getting this for ages now, but after a lot of disappointing products I was reluctant to splash out again. I think this has convinced me though!

Oh thats such a nice thing to say, hope to see you by here again :D
DeleteI didn't think I'd be able to notice the difference but it does! Your dark circles are honestly not bad, but you can still see the brightness the corrector and concealer gave the left side of your face! And yes, the Bobbi Brown ladies got my mom like that too! They're very nice and gentle with you, write everything down that they put on you and now you've convinced yourself you need it all (You have more restraint, she bought most of the stuff they used on her haha!) But very lovely, I'll be checking this out for sure! They're eye cream is amaze!

Oh they areeee bad, just in the corners especially! I think perhaps the lighting takes the 'black' out of it a bit, but it still illustrates a point! Do love BB, bless your mum haha, though I am defo gonna buy that cream, yikes! x

ReplyDeleteOh don't say this I've just dyed it dark hahaha, love curls though :D
