Grafea pink leather camera bag £160
A few months ago, my search began for a decent camera bag. I recently upgraded my camera to a Canon 600d, and before that, I used to pop my older camera in my handbag if I wanted to use it, yikes! I didn't want a huge backpack with the sole purpose for carrying a bag, as I have a few other bits to carry around and only 2 lenses usually. Instead, I wanted something that could substitute a handbag. It had to be relatively small, over the shoulder style, well padded with lots of pockets, and look pretty awesome too.
I had absolutely no idea just how much I was asking for.
I searched high and low online, in every high street store, and even took to forums and the like. I'd seen this Grafea bag quite early on in my search, but figured that there must be something cheaper out there. But no, absolutely everything is the same old black, nylon borefest.
Finally, unable to find anything else, I caved and bought this beauty. £160 is a lot of money for me, so I was hoping it was really as good as it looked in the photos. I figured seeing as I'm helping Dan with a lot of weddings and events (these photos were taken at a Luminaries event), its worth investing for the sake of looking professional. Thats my excuse! ;)
It was a little bigger than I expected, but it didn't put me off - It really is divine, and I've been asked about it every time I've worn it so far.

The pockets are the most useful feature. There are soft, removable dividers inside which attach with velcro so you can put them wherever you want. But there is also a zip pocket on the back, a pocket either side and one on the front, so plenty of space to bring spare batteries, cards and then personal essentials like my phone, and lip balm!
The only thing that bothers me is the zip. Under the flap is a zip to keep things safe, and presumably so you don't have to fiddle with the buckle every time (you can see I leave mine open really), but the zip is so tempermental that it can get really frustrating when you're in a rush to change a lens. Also, the strap clip has caught itself on the flap a few times and scraped off the facade, but the leather is dyed pink all the way through so its no biggie.
What do you think of it?
Is this a 'problem' you've encountered?

Oh my god. I need this bag. So pricey though... maybe a birthday present? I don't even care it's just so beautiful - my camera deserves only the best! xxx

It definitely was pricy! I had £100 from selling a laptop so that helped haha! I thought it'd probably be worth it seeing as I'm doing a lot of weddings and that recently! hehe ;)
DeleteThis is a beaut, really like the colour. Not very purse friendly though :( Still, once you find the perfect bag it's bound to get a hell of a lot of use, so I suppose it's worth it, the same as investing in the perfect pair of jeans!

Isn't it gorgeous? I would've loved it in red or a nice mint green, too! If not, more! There was just NOTHING else on the market. And I wasn't going to pay £80 for a boring bag I absolutely hated - I might as well carry on throwing my camera in my handbag! And seeing as its a new camera, I probably shouldn't haha! :)
DeleteThis is SO pretty... pricey but pretty!
ReplyDeleteWhen I first glanced at the picture I thought it was you in a red dress with the bag next to you and my brain couldnt work out how a person could look like that!
Wherever you are in these photos is so lovely, how pretty are the little lanterns along the path :) xx
Isn't it? I'm hoping it'll last a long time though, its all real leather and smells delish!
DeleteHaha I see what you mean, that'd be me being uber stick thin - Not gonna happen, haha! xx
Ah you got one!!! Love it! :) definitely on my wish list xx
ReplyDeleteI did I did - Glad I did too, do it! xx
DeleteOh my, that's absolutely gorgeous!!

TazandBear
Exactly! And I use it for events/weddings that I'm being paid for, so I can't rock up looking scruffy haha, need a pretty camera bag, of course ;)
DeleteWow they really are lovely! I'm surprised normal companies haven't jumped on the bandwagon of fashionable camera cases yet. I hope they do as I couldn't justify £160 on one!

I was | | close to looking into setting something up myself ;) x
DeleteI do need a nice camera bag for my 600D so this sounds perfect! In fantasy land I'd want it a wee bit smaller, but given how big and bulky a normal camera bag is this is still much more sleek looking!
ReplyDeleteThats what I've got too! It fits with loads of extra room, definitely go for it! I reckon its worth it :)
DeleteOh my gosh this is lovely!! It puts my old camera bag to shame!! Justine xx

DeleteTo rich for my blood sadly, but it is lovely..I have the 600d too, what lenses do you use for it?, I only have the kit lense but hoping to get the portrait fixed prime lense for my birthday next month, If you find any dupes for this bag let us know!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I'd have been able to justify it usually, not at all, but seeing as the camera is only recently bought, and I do a lot of events and weddings these days, I thought I'd better look a little more professional! most camera bags are black too, and whenever I used my old black handbag, I used to lose it in clients houses and that, everyone has black bags! Not lost this once ;) heheh xx
DeleteI WANT THIS BAG.
ReplyDeleteThat bag is so perfect! If I had a good enough camera, I would definitely want that bag. But it's so much money.. ._.

ReplyDeleteThat bag is gorgeous!! I could do with a new camera bag as mine isn't very stylish, as as you said the same old black, nylon borefest. I may have to invest in one of these, I'm glad I saw this post, my camera deserves a stylish carrier!

ReplyDeleteI think I've found my dream bag now. Is it possible to fit in 13-inch MacBook Air after removing paddings so there is still room for other things? This information would help me a lot. Thank you!
