I know that hallmark days like this are often considered to be a waste of money, but I know full well that I don't tell my mum how much I love her often enough. She truly is my best friend, and the most beautiful woman I've ever known, inside and out.
Unfortunately I won't be there this weekend to see her face - She always appreciates any gift, but most of all any sentiment - I've given these to my dad to hide, and give to her only when she wonders if I actually got her anything, haha!
She always used to cry when my brother had flowers delivered to her, from when he joined the army and served in Iraq. Even though he does the same every single year, she's surprised and touched, every year. I'm not joining in with my brothers competition to see who can make her cry the most, but I still want to show her how much I appreciate her being there for me over the years.
Here are a few gift ideas that I know my mum would appreciate - So maybe yours might too!
Lush Bunty gift set £13.25 //
When I lived at home with my parents, I used to have a set of drawers in the bathroom, full of Lush goodies. Sometimes, I'd run her a bath, encouraging her to try my 'new amazing bubble bar.' Well more fool me, because this led to a series of kleptomania on my mums part. Now I've moved out, I thought she might appreciate some of her own Lush goodies, as she loves baths so much.
Arbonne mask £29* //
My mum doesn't care for pamper nights and doesn't spend as long as I do on a skincare routine or otherwise - This mask is fuss free and doesn't require any effort to remove, so she might actually use it. I've tried other hydrating masks, but none are as simple and pure as this one, so I know she'd love it.
Liz Earle botanical perfume £47 //
My mum has one bottle of Chanel perfume, and one Anais Anais. She never, ever wears the Chanel, as she tries to save it for 'best occasions,' which I think is so odd. Adding some variety to her small collection might convince her to mix things up a bit. I think this scent would be right up her street.
Zara Taylor necklace £27 //
My all time favourite necklace is this Zara Taylor magnifying glass - Its unique without being too 'out there,' and goes with absolutely anything. I'm forever encouraging my mum to 'dress up,' a bit more, so this is something simple to add to her wardrobe.
Hotel Chocolat H Box £12 //
Do I really need to say any more?
Coast 'Frankie' clutch £45* //
I feel that Coast can never do wrong. I own a few of their dresses, and jewellery, and thanks to the amazing quality, they still look brand new to date. This would be another perfect addition to my mums tiny wardrobe and would smarten up any outfit - She's being going out with friends a lot more often since I've moved out, and never knows what to wear (honestly, she's worse than me)!
What are you doing for your mum tomorrow?
