You may remember me introducing Maxitone Sculptress a while back - Well, now I'm off the weight loss solution and on to the muscle building solution! The lovely people at Maxitone sent me this to celebrate their 'Thank You' competition, and reminded me that there shouldn't be a stereotype with protein - Its not just for muscle maniacs at the gym, its also essential for healthy skin, nails and hair (I totally forgot about this fact until I was reminded). You know, to get the daily allowance of protein you'd need to eat 3 large chicken breasts daily? I didn't lose as much weight as I would've liked using Sculptress, but annoyingly my motivation to work out was just so low and my increasing 3rd year student work load didn't help - Excuses. I need to practice what I preach.
Maxitone also sent me some workout goodies, alongside some Sanctuary treats to use after a workout! With 10-20 and 40 minute workout options, I don't think I can give myself an excuse not to do something at least - At the moment I'm not even touching the government guidelines for exercise, this doesn't help anything and I'm only letting myself down!
I'm going to get my nutrition back in line with the help of my two favourite cook books (and I'll write the best recipes in my Paperchase recipe book), and use these goodies to their full potential! Oh, and I'll be taking 'before' and 'after' photos, and if that doesn't kick my butt into gear, I'm surely doomedl! Time to get those abs back!
I was also sent this Revoflex x-Treme from the people at XLS Medical recently, you might have seen that mentioned in the Maxitone post too, and its growing on me! I know the benefit of the plank exercise, but I just cannot do it for more than a few seconds, eek!
This makes the exercise more dynamic and a bit more fun. It can be used in a variety of different ways though, and resistance can be adjusted for all exercises. It does come with a poster displaying all of the different ways to use it, but I do find that the image on the box portrays the best way to use it - I can really feel it!
I was also sent these Trek protein bars by the same people - They taste quite just like the Nakd bars if you've tried them, but a bit milder and you get so much more for your money - Regrettably they're not for me, (though the peanut one is quite moreish), but if you're looking for a healthy alternative to snacking this is it!
How do you keep fit at home, or do you prefer the gym?
S xx

I always end up phasing the gym out - I used to run when I lived in a nice village but now I live in the middle of nowhere with lots of really uneven ground :( x
DeleteOooooh this is all very exciting! Good luck, look forward to hearing how you get on!

Very true fact :D x
DeleteI think I prefer the gym just because I can never motivate myself to do anything at home (it's hard enough motivating myself to go to the gym!)
ReplyDeleteI really want to get the Leon cookbook though, love their food
