I recently received 1000 matt business cards from Instant Print, and am thrilled with the result. I decided on a simple design, showcasing a gorgeous illustration of myself, by my pal Gem. I felt a little uncomfortable - vain, perhaps, using a picture of myself, so thought this was a nice way to go.
The quality is fantastic, they're sturdy, and comparable to the obvious business card seller, Moo.
The only thing I prefer Moo for here, is that you can add a few designs - And for someone like Dan, who is a photographer, having one design can be a bit boring. Dan asks potential clients to 'pick a card, any card,' which is cheesy as hell, I know, but at least they get to take their own choice of his work home with them.
Another thing is, I received a couple of random business cards of unknown companies within my packs - I'm not actually sure if this is a mistake or a purposeful way of advertising? No big deal, either way!
The biggest deal breaker for me though, is price. For 1000 of the best quality cards, printed within 2 days costs £233 from Moo, including delivery. From Instant Print, the same costs just £44. Wowsers.
Because of that, we've also ordered some lovely leaflets to showcase Dan's wedding photography, and are just waiting for them to arrive!
Whilst doing this, we had to email Instant Print a few times to clarify templates and such. The replies were polite enough - But somewhat lacking in personality, and a little bit blunt, which is a shame. Saying that, everything got sorted out promptly and we're more than happy!
Giveaway //
So, Instant Print have kindly offered 4 sets of 1000 business cards to giveaway to you lovely lot.
There will be 4 winners, and you will each win 1000 business cards - You'll need to create your design and email your details to Instant Print. Don't worry, I'll give you every thing you need when the winners are chosen at random.

Good Luck!

ETA: We did indeed get the leaflets, 500 for £160. The sample pack showed amazing, laser print quality - However, we received our own design in inkjet. We've had enough experience with printers to notice the difference, and we're a little worried that other people might not! Inkjet is far inferior in quality, and a lot cheaper to produce, so its a little naughty to send out samples in amazing laser quality and then sell purchased products in an entirely different quality. We're in the process of sorting this out, wish us luck!

I love yours - I got some too but I didn't think to order double sided! I wish I'd realised we were able to do this, I just got given the template and I assumed I could only submit one design, I think mine look a bit rubbish compared to everyone else's! :) Thankyou for putting an honest review of the process though, I think it's really good that you did that. xo

ReplyDeleteCaptivating...design is unique and shades are going well with it making it more adorable...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful illustration! That was an amazing idea to put a self-portrait on your business card. I also love your pale pink background; it gives contrast to the illustration and to the front.
ReplyDeleteAfter discussion and presentation or upon meeting new clients. Cards in order for your embossed business cards to be Core useful see to it that your cards has a space at the back where you can write brief details about the period of your interest.
