Dress - French Connection
Blazer - Primark
Shoes - New Look
Bracelet - Thomas Sabo
This dress was my first 'expensive' dress. I bought it way back when I was about 18 I think, a whole 5 years ago. I reluctantly shelled out £80, telling myself that this dress was an absolute must have and that I wouldn't regret it. I didn't, and its still one of my all time favourite dresses, to this day. The cut is timeless as is the striped pattern, and can be worn in so many ways, its what I would call 'safe!'
Its strange to think that I pondered on spending £80 on one dress, then progressed to spend a lot more on Karen Millen coats, Diesel handbags and All Saints dresses - And now that I'm a student, £80 is extortionate again, ha!
This time I wore it for a charity ball that me and Dan set the portable photography studio up for - and I wore it with this popular blazer, recently bought from Primark. I've had these shoes for a year too, but this was the first time I wore them!

Do you remember the first 'expensive' item you splashed out on?

ReplyDeleteThat dress is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteOh, and the first expensive thing I bought was UGGS, ten years ago before they became cool...I think back then they only cost £60!
ReplyDeleteLove it, and the colour of your blazer is gorgeous, really makes the whole outfit pop.
ReplyDeleteI remember umming and ahhing over £100 shoes and things years ago, then when I was working if felt like nothing but like you being a student, now I'm fully self employed I can rarely afford to spend a tenner to treat myself let alone buy anything expensive!

This dress is gorgeous - and the colour of the blazer against it is absolutely gorgeous. I remember my first expensive thing - a Marc Jacobs blue jacket that I got on sale in New York for about $400. I was 14 and it was pretty much all my holiday money, but I still wear it now - 6 years later, so I can't really moan! I find every clear out any cheap stuff I've just bought on impulse goes, sometimes still with tags on and all my 'investment' items stay so I'm really a big believer in spending on things you love as they stand the test of time!
ReplyDeleteyou look so pretty!

I do - it was a lavender snake skin fake leather jacket that I wore to death. I was still in school then and was probably the most colourfully dressed person.
