I don't usually get sucked into Mac's limited edition ranges - Strange perhaps, considering my uncontrollable love for packaging. (It probably doesn't help that they seem to release a new Limited Edition collection every weekend)! This time though, I couldn't resist. Anything striped gets my attention. Stripes in line (pun definitely intended) with a nautical theme even more so. Nautical stripes with make up though, and I'm there without a second thought, oops?!
I initially loved the look of the 'Fleet Away' blush, but the shimmer in the pan didn't quite translate well on my skin, and instead looked quite flat. I fell in love with 'Launch Away' which is surprisingly described as a peach colour. To me it looked more like a light pink, until I placed it beside other shades I'd describe as light pink! It does indeed have a hint of peach, and the colour is subtle whilst beautiful. On my fair skin its a soft candy pink and quite natural looking!
I've never used MAC Blush before, and the main things I can confidently note are that the colour pay off is great, and its incredibly easy to blend. £18 for a blusher is pretty shocking but hey, I've paid much, much more before. (The ability of amazing packaging really shows, argh)!
I also picked up the 'Au Rose' Lip gloss, (£11.50), a coral pink with golden shimmer. Unfortunately the intense colour doesn't quite transfer on the lips, but mine are quite pigmented anyway. I do however love the subtle tint, heavy gloss, and again, the lasting power. I easily went 3-4 hours without reapplying, which for a lip gloss is quite a feat!
What do you think?
Do you have your eye on anything from the range?

I really love that blush colour, you're right though it is really light - but in a really sweet and peachy/pinky way. I think it looks gorgeous on you =)

I find MAC blushers can be quite chalky but I ADORE the packaging...I'm a stripe fiend too!
ReplyDeleteTotally agree - MAC have about four dozen 'limited edition' releases a year! I wonder if their MUAs get a freebie of everything new?

ReplyDeleteNice!!
ReplyDeleteOh wow! In the first photo, the blush did look very light pink. But with your whole face in view, it actually looks really natural and pretty. I love it! And yes, anything stripes always draws me in too. :) <3

The blush looks beautiful and beautiful on you. DEFINITELY tempted as I'm burning through my mineral blushes at the moment. I've paid that much for a mnineral blush before, and I find it shameful that I now find myself thinking that £18-20 is a reasonable price for a good product... Maybe it's because I don't wear much make-up outside my set daily routine and a few extra eye products for events.
ReplyDeleteI got TCAS lipstick and Riviera life lip glass just today, love them both! I'm N4 and have blond hair and these both look great! I love the packaging!
