I have more lip balms than I dare admit, after a life long search to find the perfect one and am still increasing in numbers. I have a terrible habit of biting my lips when I'm nervous or stressed (which has been all the time since I've been at Uni), to the point my lips begin to throb. Lip balm calms this down and to an extent, reminds me to stop biting them - Unfortunately the winter only adds to the problem, so I tend to buy more around this time!
I'd noticed a lot of hype about this particular lip balm from Korres, and after spotting it in House of Fraser, I picked one up for £6. Following my love for bright pink lips, I first picked up Guava but decided to swap for Jasmine, a more nude shade which I usually tend to steer away from. I thought that, being a lip balm, it would add more of a tint rather than making me look incredibly strange, pigmented nudes don't usually work for me.
Straight away, I love the understated packaging, something which I'm an absolute sucker for.
The first thing I noticed when using the lip balm is how smooth and soft it feels to apply. On the lips, its moisturising without being heavy, slimy or sticky. It really is obvious how removing petroleum and replacing with natural ingredients makes a difference and I love the 'light' feel of this lip balm.
My lips are quite pigmented naturally, and this shade tones it down gently with a milky nude colour which is perfect for daytime use, or for use at work where I need to look professional but need something on my lips to protect them from the harshness of winter.
I'd love to, and will, try the other more pigmented colours, but the £6 price tag is a little steep to take the top spot from Burts Bee's. The only other downside, despite how I like the packaging, pots and long nails are always awkward, I'm sure you all know!
Have you tried this yet?
Whats your favourite lip balm?

I think you can get this in tube form which you might find more practical :)
ReplyDeleteI love my mine I have it in guava and I find it's really moisturises my lips without leaving them sticky and slimy :) I also like that it helps tone down my lips before applying lipstick because I have very pigmented lips.
ReplyDeleterly interesting post :)
ReplyDeleteNice review, my favourite lipbalm is the coconut flavoured vaseline
ReplyDeleteI´m a big fan of Lush lipbalms (Whip Stick is my winter favourite) but I don´t especially like pots, I find sticks a lot more practical. As far as those are concerned, I like the Pure and Natural Nivea collection - honey and milk being my favourite.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite lip balm is Rose&Co. It is more vaseline-type, but it is just so lovely!
ReplyDeleteI love the packaging of this one. ;)

I havent tried this product yet, but have heard lots of good things about it. I hate how some lip products really dry your lips, but this sounds like like the ingredients are good xx
ReplyDeleteIt looks so cute. I've heard many great things about this product and can't wait to try it.

I'm terrible too for buying too many lip balms! My favourite one I always seem to go back to is cherry carmex :) x
ReplyDeleteThis one is really pretty and girly, love the packaging! I've given up buying loads of different lip balms though, the only one that soothes my lips is Carmex. I usually have 2 or 3 pots dotted around the house at a time! x
